Hi Sheri ,
I do not usually comment on the list. I agree that the School for the
Blind can be a good resource for learning the skills of blindness. It can be a
place for blind children to gain confidence and independence. I am glad to
have attended and graduated from a school for the Blind.

We must be careful what we say, all people who are blind are different.
One cannot hide the fact that he or she has a vision loss. There are many
capable intelligent blind people who have always been blind. The fact that one
was sighted before does not give that person more or less advantages when
it comes to living in our world. It is your faith and surroundings and
education that makes the difference. Because of organizations like the NFB life
is better for blind people, we can encourage others to reach whatever
goals he or she wants to reach with education and skills. technology has opened
many doors in the areas of employment for people with disabilities.
