Since we are talking about kids it reminds me of a conversation I had with
my adult son.  I was telling home how badly I felt because I couldn't drive
him to all the activities his friends could go to.  He said that the most
fun thing about his childhood was all the adventures we went on in the
nearby woods looking for bears and pirates and sledding in winter.  He said
that when we would walk we could talk which most kids never got to do with
their moms.

Awwww, that was so sweet.
