[Nfbf-l] If you use the m.facebook.com site

Hi Kathy and all,

Well, I am pleased to report that they have fixed the m.facebook.com web
site. I guess it must have been something that the folks at FB had to iron
out. It came back up sometime in mid afternoon eastern time so everyone
should be able to go back there now and use the site.

As far as Firefox is concerned it would be very safe to use and will not do
anything to Internet Explorer at all. It is the same type of program as
Internet Explorer and for all intents and purposes does the same thing. So,
you might say well, why would I want it then? The two browsers compete
directly with each other in many ways. Many say that Firefox is a more
secure browser than Internet Explorer so provides safer surfing. That may
be true but we have to rely on studies and testing that are supposed to
provide the facts. We have both browsers on some of our PC's but we still
primarily use Internet Explorer but having Firefox around is good in case we
need to test something like the FaceBook thing. Anyway, I hope that helps
out.

Thanks,
Jim

Actually, Kirk, I have been very busy in recent months. Had lots of company
over the holidays and just returned from an amazing 7 day cruise. I have
read all the messages now finally. It seemed as though there were hundreds
of them!

Jim Ellsworth helped me with a computer issue a little while ago when I
called Freedom Scientific technical support. He said that he will try to
answer all of our questions when he is not at work. He's a real neat guy and
I have tremendous respect for Jim.

Let's see what he has to say about firefox.

Take care,

Kathy

Kathy, I am not sure as I have never attempted it personally, I have only
used the mobile program for it's simplicity of it. I didn't care for the FB
site as it was hard for me to maneuver on it so I just use the mobility for
it's simplicity! I would suggest that Jim Ellsworth would be the one to ask
for the firefox question! I hope all is well with you as I have sent you
emialds without reply off and on for awhile now. I just assumed you were
busy with those grandchildren as they are such a great joy! Your friend, KH

Hi Kirk,

Long time, no talk to! I have nevered used firefox and need to know if I
should just download it to my desk top and go from there. My other question
is that if I use Firefox, will it mess up my using IE8 after that?

Sure would appreciate input from you or anyone else on the list.

Thanks much in advance!

Kathy

Hi Patricia, I use the mobile site Jim posted at the end of his suggestions
personally. It is just the simple texting without pic's and such that I am
unable to see anyway and I get an email whenever someone posts in my in bocx
as well. It works fine for me and is extremely easy to use! KH

Hi Jim.

Thanks so much for this information. I've tried to access facebook on
several occasions using Internet explorer, but found it difficult to
navigate the pages. Do you by any chance have the link to download firefox?
I've never used it before, but I'll give it a try.
