Hi Jim,

So glad you have finally gotten home. Even with the revolving door of
doctor appointments, home health care, etc. You will probably be able to
rest better and get your strength back!

The Gainesville Chapter is thinking of you and your family and behind you
all the way in this battle.

Caring Thoughts and Prayers to you.

Judy

> Hi all,

After spending 22 days in the hospital I returned home last Monday evening.
I’m sorry I haven’t written sooner but it has been a stressful tiring
and very busy time for us all. After being in bed for so long you lose a
lot of strength and your muscles don’t work the way they should. I am
undergoing physical therapy for that. I am visited by a home health care
nurse every other day to drain fluid from my left lung using a cathiter
which is painless and only takes 20 minutes or so. Eventually it will be
removed depending on how the chemotherapy progresses. Between home health
care, physsical therapy and doctor appointments I am busy every single day
this week.

On the good side I can now breathe well again. My left lung had become
completely collapsed due to being full of 6 liters of fluid so I had been
functioning on one long and didn’t know it. I will gradually regain my
strength and stamina but right now I still get pretty tired and can’t
walk very far. Anyway, I am home and improving and eating well and all so
it’s all moving along quite well.

I certainly want to thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts and wishes.
Your encouragement has been helpful and inspiring. I was very sad that I
couldn’t attend the convention but it simply wasn’t possible so there
is next year to look forward.

Well, thanks for everything everyone and if anything changes with me I’ll
try to keep everyone up to date.

Making it a great day and I hope you do as well,
Jim Ellsworth
