Subject: [Nfbf-l] On line school course accessibility

Good afternoon.

During the recent state convention there was discussion of the forthcoming
mandate for Florida students to take on line courses as part of their
graduation requirements. It was properly noted that such courses need to be
accessible to blind students.

Since the curriculum is still under development, I thought of an idea that
would benefit students without disabilities and might also force feed the
accessibility a bit. Why not include some instruction on disabilities
including blindness and accessibility, particularly for those who may be
entering technology fields and who will need to know how to design systems
we can use.

I just wanted to share that bit of food for thought to those who are working
on this issue more directly.
