Osceola County must have much better bus service than does Orange county.
Got this from channel 9 news. See below.
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -
Eyewitness News has learned that Lynx bus ridership has spiked roughly 20
percent in Osceola County in the past few months.
"There is definitely a lot of overcrowding," Lynx rider David Lewis told
WFTV.
Several customers have recently complained that Lynx buses in Osceola County
are too crowded.
"We have a record ridership year," Lynx CEO John Lewis says.
Lewis says ridership in Osceola County has increased from 18 percent to 24
percent so far this year.
"The challenge of the economy has brought about rising gas prices. People
are voting with their pockets and getting out of their single occupant
vehicles and choosing transit," Lewis said.
Some buses are so overcrowded that people have to wait for others to come
by, he said.
"They're running behind all the time right now, especially during this time
of day," Lynx rider Carl Hicks says.
Lynx officials and Osceola County Commissioners are expected to discuss the
increased ridership at an upcoming meeting.
