Hi Tara,

I strongly disagree with your stand on gun control. I am a member of the
NRA and I believe in our Second Amendment rights for responsible gun owners
to carry a gun.

The tragedy of the teen shooting was horrible and the shooter should be
prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law but the fact he had a gun does
not make all gun owners evil.

Should we revoke all drivers licenses because some drivers are wreckless or
some drivers drive while drunk? NO!

The simple fact is that MOST gun owners are responsible and realize the
seriousness of their actions.

When I was a kid all boys and most girls carried a pocket knife to school
but now that would be considered a major offense.

It is not the gun or the knife or the car that is the problem it is the rare
but tragic actions of an irresponsible person that is the problem.

If our society succeeded in banning all guns, knives and other dangerous
weapons then irrational crazy people would use a stick, a rock or their bare
hands to hurt other people.

As for your cane incident, many years ago there was a guy with a folded
cane in his back pucker who was stopped by a police officer for carry a
weapon and when the cop asked the guy what he had in his pocket the guy
thought he was being mugged. He stood to defend himself and the cop beat
him up. the cop's defense was the guy should have seen he was wearing a
uniform. So are you going to ban cops too?

So think twice before your misinformation guides you in restricting my gun
ownership rights, they are one of the few things left in the Constitution
that hasn't been trashed.

JODY
