[Nfbf-l] Changing the Dates of the Convention

As our convention expanded to encompass four days, we needed a three-day holiday weekend and those are in short supply. Long ago we had them in the fall, but the dangers of hurricane season drove a change to the spring and Memorial Day weekend. I support the change to Martin Luther King weekend with appropriate commemoration of that event (as we do for Memorial day now), as long as we can get good hotel rates. I don't see a problem with our getting good rates for MLK weekend.

The state and national conventions are too close together now. Members barely have enough time to recuperate from one before the next one rolls around.
