[Nfbf-l] Devastation from Hurricane Sandy here in NY

Um we got hit again as well here on Long Island, many of us still without power, I am lucky mine came back on Monday, and we had a lot of snow, but now most of it is gone.
Gas rationing, etc.
Some of our NFB members here, since as you all are aware I am the treasurer of the Greater Long Island Chapter, and also President of the NFB Travel and Tourism Division.
Our Greater Long Island Chapter President David Stayer still has no power, he is down close the water levels, his house was flooded, boiler destroyed and car destroyed.
They got a car, boiler can be fixes but no heat or power, and other people are displaced like Harold Wenning.

I think only 1 person from the Long Island Chapter is going to our State Convention that starts today. Can't waste the gas, my husband works so he needs it, even though our convention is only a 1 1/2 drive to Westchester, can't chance it.
Upstate didn't get hit badly, NY City has finally opened the tunnels that go into and out of NY City from Long Island and New Jersey.
The day after the storm hit, Nelson (husband), and I drove down to the area of the shore line, since we do live on an Island, we drove to Bay Shore which is just 3-5 miles from us, we normally go fishing there, or just walks on the boardwalk on nice days, etc.
We took some pictures and videos when I have a second to breathe I will post them on my facebook page. No more boardwalks, tons of erosion. Many people lost homes either due to flooding or trees collapsing on them or electrical poles. You name it.
I don't know how Florida has survived all these years, and my husband's home of Puerto Rico, which by the way, just scrapped by them.
I have spoken to President of the NFB of New Jersey Joe Ruffalo, his state convention is also this weekend, and I am doing there fundraiser cruise in April of 2013 is well, most of his people are accounted for.
So lets take a moment to pray for all our NFB Family in NY/NJ/CT who has gone through this.
Sincerely,
Your sister in the NFB
