Tom & Dwight,
Imagine the possibilities on taking an NFBf cruise newbie on their
first time ever cruise! Many of the Greater Daytona Chapter members
have never stepped foot on a cruise ship including my bride or I,
never-the-less the excitement on just going on one intrigues both of
us. Since the wife and I have recently obtained passports (quite costly
I must say)for other travel purposes, many of our chapter members do
not have one nor do several of them have the resources this close to
the holidays to be able to afford or obtain one. My other concern is
that when I go to state convention it is usually to network, exchange
information, have camaraderie with affiliate friends and to seek out
new technology that vendors bring to convention, from our presidents
meeting I gathered that the vendors will be left out of 2014 convention
cruise.(correct me if I’m wrong)I believe that Tom Bellone has some
valid concerns that should be addressed. So let’s brainstorm to come up
with some amicable solutions to all of the concerns that the affiliate
members may have.

I'm not concerned about the economics. I'm more concerned that we may
have to choose between attending convention events or enjoying time off
ship at ports of call. If given that choice, I'll opt to miss the
meetings.
No one has responded to my question as to what my understanding was as
to determining the time and venue of future conventions

speaking it is a much better deal than having to pay for a hotel and
meals etc. Also I am sure there will be adaquate time to enjoy the ship
and all it offers. Remember the entertainment shipboard will be mostly
in the evening and I would not think meeting and convention events
would take place while in port.

convention earlier this year the membership granted permission to the
board to seek alternate times and venues for the state convention
subject to approval by the membership. Guess I wasn't paying attention.
I'd love to go on a cruise, I'm not sure I want to spend my time on a
cruise attending all the meetings that go along with trying to have a
convention at the expense of enjoying the cruise and ports of call.
