So you are not going to become old sea dogs for the convention, but remain
land lovers? Oh well, I do hope that those who have booked reservations
will continue to prepare to go on what still sounds like it could be a very
fun, interesting experience.

Subject: [Nfbf-l] NFBF 2014 Cruisevention Cancelled

Fellow Convention Enthusiasts,

In spite of the best efforts of members of the NFBF Board, many members of
the NFBF, and Echevarria Travel, it appears that we will not be able to
proceed with the our plans to hold the 2014 Convention of the National
Federation of the Blind of Florida aboard a cruise ship. I regret having to
say this, but we just have not been able to generate anything like the kind
of support from our membership to make this event a success. Also, we have
learned that rules imposed on potential cruise participants by the
cruiseline would mean that we would have to exclude some of our members,
because of their ages or that of their children.

If you booked a cabin with Norwegian Cruiselines through Echevarria Travel
and wish to cancel, you will need to contact Cheryl Echevarria at
reservations at echevarriatravel.com for a refund. If you wish to still take
the cruise as scheduled February 7 thru 10, 2014, by all means, keep paying
your fees and enjoy a wonderful vacation at sea. The only difference will be
that it will not be an NFBF Convention. The dates and location of the 2014
NFBF Convention, which will be held on land, will be forthcoming at a later
date.

Don't forget to make your plans now to attend the 2013 NFBF Convention in
St. Petersburg. More information is at:

Thank you all for your support.

National Federation of the Blind of Florida
