Well Mark I believe that if it were not coming across there would be a lot more abuses towards us by the side of community and what we have currently! I believe, Unfortunately, That the human race itself has a lot nasty people in it and that will always be as cited against site did blind against blind or vice versa race against race religion against religion proves this without doubt, So for us to jump on an isolated incident that isn't that common I think is not in my opinion the way to go with this time! What did they say Mark, You can get more with honey than you can with vinegar? You take care of yourself my friend until then, Kirk

And to compound it with a mentally ill individual there is no need to worry about the lack of concern or are getting the word out because overall I believe that decided people respect our guide dogs in our changes as the other gentleman's stated yesterday he has lived both sides of the coin as have I passed the 17 years I have been blind prior to that I have for vision and I live in both worlds and there are evil people in the society community that hurt evil people I mean excuse me good people in the side of community that does not reflect disrespect for any and all sighted people as well correct? I would like to consider this an isolated incident that has unique circumstances involved and it should not be blown out of proportion or a holler and scream for more action because I think our point is well taken in the majority population of decided community.

>> Absolutely. I agree, she desperately needs help, and I do apologize for the rough way in which I treated this subject upon first reading the article. I know she needs compassion as much as anybody. But still, her reaction was inexcusable. Professionals will tell you that most people with mental illness, especially when they are using their meds properly and have some sort of support system, are no more violent than the public in general, and having worked with people with mental illness for a number of years, I would certainly agree with that. What this woman did was attack a living being, and I hate to bring religion into it but, in my view, one of God's creatures who was not in the least threatening her with harm. Not only that, she was the threat here, threatening a blind person's means of mobility. And then she had the nerve to mildly say she guessed she was "overreacting." That doesn't begin to describe what she was doing, assault is more like it. Sometimes it is extremely disappointing when I see how little progress we really have made as exemplified by this reprehensible behavior.

>>> Sherry, This is sad on both sides of the situation. The poor puppy could've been blinded as well what a shame however this older woman as obviously got some serious mental issues if what she states is accurate so how can we blame this lady's bad behavior or irrational behavior when she's mentally ill as she states . I don't believe we can as I also feel this is an isolated and unique situation that I don't think any sane person would have done so like I say this is sad I'm both sides of this unique situation thank God the puppies doing better and I hope this lady gets the help that she needs!
