Good Morning, We brought Jim home yesterday afternoon. He says he is very
happy to be back home. He's extremely tired and has been mainly sleeping
since he's been home. Hopefully, he will start feeling better soon.
Currently, I really have to coax him to eat, take his meds and do his mouth
rinses. Monday, he's slated for labs, a blood transfusion and Rituxan. It
will be a busy day for him. The nice part though is that he will be able to
have all of this done over at the Moffitt International plaza. Previously,
when going to Florida Cancer Specialist, if he needed a blood transfusion,
he had to go over to St. Anthonys. However, MIP has their own infusion
center; which, makes this easier for everyone. These days, I feel like a
pharmacist as I have come to know the names of all kinds of meds and what
they are for. My iPhone has really become invaluable to me as I have
multiple alarms set throughout the day to remind me when to give Jim the
myriad of meds he has to take. I'm praying that the transfusion will give
him a burst of energy; and, I'm praying that he will eat and drink more.
This is going to be our biggest challenge. He has been losing weight again
and though I understand that this is just part of it, I still worry,
nevertheless. Also, a little surprise for everyone. While jim was in the
hospital, he got his head shaved. His hair began falling out in large clumps
a couple of weeks ago; so, when the nurse at moffitt asked if he wanted to
get his head shaved, he hesitated at first and then decided to go for it. To
be candid, I'm glad. Now, he won't be pulling his hair out, literally, while
we are watching TV. LOL Everyone have a blessed day. It is time for me to
get my dear hubby to take his meds and eat some breakfast. Kim
