Pole vaulter Charlotte Brown, a junior at Rains High School in Emory, Texas, is set to compete for a Texas state title at 1:30 p.m. CT on May 9 at the University of Texas in Austin.

Brown is one of nine competitors in the Class 3A field. She is the only one who is blind.
