Dear Fellow Federationists,

 

                Below is a link to the Capitol News Service story about our
demonstration. When you click on the link, go to the heading that says
"Blind Justice", then arrow down to the "Play" button to start the video.
Also, I would like to correct the statement made by J.R. Harting in which he
says service animals are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
It may seem like a minor technical issue, but the ADA ensures the rights of
a disabled person to be accompanied by a service animal. The service animal
is not what is afforded the legal protections. It is an important
differentiation because state and federal laws do not afford the legal
protections to a nondisabled individual to take an animal into a place of
public accommodation even if that animal is a service animal.
