> UCP Among Supporters of the Reintroduction of Part D Beneficiary Appeals Fairness Act
> This week, Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA) and Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), reintroduced the Part D Beneficiary Appeals Fairness Act. The act will allow individuals with chronic illness to appeal the placement of their specialty drugs on the Medicare Part D Specialty Tier. Specialty drugs include high priced and injectable drugs that exceed a minimum monthly cost threshold by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
>
> These drugs are used to treat chronic illnesses and diseases that include multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, hemophilia, and others. Please support the companion bills H.R. 2624 and S. 1488, the Part D Beneficiary Appeals Fairness Act so that individuals affected by these chronic conditions can get relief from the issue of paying for these high-cost drugs! Get more information from Representative Johnson and Senator Nelson.
