A good friend of mine and an  NFBCF chapter member sends the following.


A good friend of mine has a kick starter campaign that has 5 days left to 
go, and it is to fund a recording project that may be of interest to the 
blind community. She is recording nature sounds in the Sierra Nevadas. 
Supporters of the kick starter campaign at the $10 level will receive a copy 
of the recordings.

  We are on our way home from California. We had an amazing time in the 
Sierra Nevadas recording nature sounds. Not only did we capture the sounds 
but also the Geo coordinates of each location so people will know exactly 
where the sound came from.


  We had a great conversation with the national park supervisor at Devils 
Postpile National Monument, and she asked to use our recordings in their 
accessibility programs and their programs to preserve the natural 
soundscape. This is a big priority for them. We are of course quite happy to 
offer our recordings to them.


  Perhaps some of your friends in the blind community would be interested in 
these recordings. We’re at 60% funded and have 5 days to go with our 
Kickstarter campaign. Anyone who would like a copy of the ambient nature 
sound recordings can get a digital copy of them as a reward for backing the 
project at the $10 level.


  Some of the locations and sounds we’ve recorded include wind through the 
trees and over the rocks at Devils Postpile, Rainbow falls from the top and 
the bottom of the falls, birdsong in the meadow behind the ranger station at 
Devils Postpile, the San Joaquin River, Soda Springs,  birdsong and the 
waterfall over the boulder with a hole in the middle at Sotcher lake, 
Sherwin Creek, the meadow above Sherwin Creek, a native american cave site 
along sherwin creek from inside the cave, winds and birdsong at native 
american petroglyph sites in the volcanic tablelands, water, meadow and 
birdsong sounds from Mammoth Lakes including Lake George, Lake Mary, TJ 
Lake, Barrett Lake, Lake McCloud, river and birdsong in Tuolumne Meadows, 
Snow Creek and just above Mirror Lake in Yosemite. We also spent a little 
time in Newport Beach and recorded the waves at the Wedge. Most of the sound 
clips are 5-8 minutes long, a few are around 3.
