Interesting.
I wonder how much pressure a company like NVDA can put on the higher
priced AT companies.
Freedom Scientific for instance, dropped the $200 extra it charged for
several service additions on its JAWS Professional and integrated it
with the professional version for its standard price of $1200, and the
Standard version of JAWS, now called the Home version, now works on
all Windows versions whereas before it was limited to only working on
home versions of the operating system.
So now the $895 version of JAWS works just as well on a
professionalWindows machine as the Professional, the exception being
that JAWS Professional is customizable an like I said, has those
additional services which used to cost $200 extra now built in for the
$1200 price.
Granted, its not a big change, but I wonder if that was in any way
Freedom Scientific's reaction to the pressure NVDA is putting on their
pricing structure?
