You are so right Kathy. It is very difficult to function with both a hearing 
loss and a vision loss and I so admire those who contend with both.

I believe Darleen's feelings were hurt and she felt unappreciated. She's all
about the rights and needs of the deaf blind and I can't imagine what that
would be like to lose my hearing in addition to my sight. I don't know
Darleen well but I hope there is someone out there who does and will ask her
to reconsider joining our ranks once more. There are just those times when
things are going on in a person's life that none of us may even know about
and perhaps with Darleen, that was just the straw that broke the cammel's
back so to speak. Darleen has worked hard to further the rights of the deaf
blind and I appreciate her efforts. Let's invite her back with an attitude
of appreciation instead of castigation.

I noticed that Darlene sent this message to the list before I sent my
message.

I do find it interesting how quickly some people can just resign their
positions in and cut all ties with an organization to which they have
claimed support and loyalty, just because they receive negative feedback
from other concerned members of the organization. I realize that all NFB
members have to be accepted and appreciated at their own level of
involvement, however, when this happens, I find myself doubting the level of
commitment the former member was willing to put forth in the first place.

I cannot remove anyone from the NFBF-L list. To be removed from (or to join)
the NFBF-L list, one needs to log in to www.nfbnet.org.
