Wow, that's a funny language fender bender.  Seriously, though when I first
saw this it did raise a minor panic in my my mind as to what kind of attack
could endanger the school itself, perhaps was it a major burglary or God
forbid, a terrorist attack?  That's what the headline sounded like.  

I don't think it is Jaws that triped you up necessarily.  It is just an
unclear headline that is not even necessarily an attempt to hype the story.

If the story had been about the future of the school, it should have read
something like, "Future of Southeastern Guide School Uncertain."  

Sometimes the headline writer isn't even the same person who wrote the
story.

Hi Larry,

Well, yes and no. The media do love to play up the emotional side of any
story, and it's too soon to know whether the dog will still be sound enough
to work. But unfortunately all too often dogs who are traumatized simply
refuse to work, or don't perform at the level they did prior to the
incident. Years ago I had a friend who was on a train with her guide dog
when it derailed. The dog, who was not injured, was so badly frightened that
my friend had to return her to the training program, and was adopted out as
a pet.
When I first read the title of the article, I thought they meant that the
actual training program Southeastern's future was uncertain (lol.) But of
course they meant the future of the dog trained by Southeastern. Sometimes
JAWS trips us up!

I hope to See you and Mary at convention!
