To my friends and family of both the Greater Long Island Chapter and the NFB of Florida; and lifetime member of the National Association of Blind Veterans:

Happy New Year!

Just wanted to give you a heads up on some upcoming events, especially for the NFB of Central Florida.

I have become a member of the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce for my business of Echevarria Travel. Yes, we are still home based travel agents, just located now in Lake Nona (Orlando area), in July of 2017 we will be moving to the Kissimmee Area, just on the other side of the New Veterans Hospital, so if you are familiar with the area, just a drive on the other side of Lake Nona Blvd near Boggy Creek Road.

For those that own businesses or I keep inviting our Central Florida Chapter to attend, Chamber of Commerces do support non-profit organizations.

Also, if you love to travel, we do a number of group trips a year, that anyone can join! We service everyone through the United States. Anyone, that is independent with or without someone to travel with can come on our hosted trips, or we can book you your own family & friends, or romance travel, we do fundraising events as well.

There is no more NFB Travel & Tourism Division within the NFB, just an FYI!

We would like to invite you to a free event on January 25, 2017 at Total Wine at the 2712 East Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32803 from 6pm - 8pm. This is a Free Wine Tasting and Caribbean Night. We will focus on travel to the Caribbean, and Sandals Resorts International with is Sandals for Couples in Love (At Any Age), I always say that because, we are no spring chickens, LOL! They are also Beaches for Everyone By Sandals.

East Orlando Chamber of Commerce is doing a Ribbon Cutting Event for Echevarria Travel at this event as well. Since we are a home based business, we do not have a regular store, so this is the next best thing. If you would like to attend and participate but do not live in the Orlando area, we are trying to do live conference webinar, so if any techies out there know of one that is usable to everyone including the blind, we you can also ask questions and participate, please e-mail me.

We are also leaving for the Bahamas from Jan 11-16, 2017. This is the 7 Annual Home Based Conference for Sandals Resorts International. We have gone the last 3 years to these events, and they are very informative, as well as, I do advocate for better access to us the blind, these resorts are not that are not blind friendly with all the technology we use, or don't use. It is more of a mobility issue, if you use a scooter or wheelchair, there are a few properties I wouldn't recommend, and guide dog users, the Caribbean is working the kinks out of the access issues. I have met with both Ministers of Tourism of Jamaica - Edmund Bartlett and Barbados Access Minister Kerryann Ifill, and will be meeting in May at a conference here in FL with various other Ministers of Tourism.

So if you are interested in getting e-newsletters, getting information on live events, hosted group trips, or maybe you want to do a Fundraiser for your Chapter or Division.
