Hi Tinetta,
My daughter broke her ankle just before Christmas of 2017. She did it by
catching her heel in one of those textured domes or whatever they are called
that are supposed to tell us where driveways are, etc. Have a happy New
Year.
Sherri

Hi Sherri,
First of all, Happy New Year. I haven't visited New Jersey since 1993 when
my Grandma passed away, But I remember how treacherous walkways can be in
snowy weather. For me being legally blind and mobility impaired it is
important to be careful where your feet take you. My sister, who is sighted,
broke her foot two days before Christmas.
Enjoy the time with your daughter,
Tinetta Cooper

Hello NFBF family,
I am so excited. I am visiting my daughter Katie who lives in Colonie, New
York. (Yes, the word Colonie is spelled correctly.) I got here very early
this morning and will leave on January 6. The first thing I did when I got
to her house is to try not to fall down on the icy driveway. That was quite
an accomplishment. It has been over 2 years since I have seen her, so I am
very excited to be here.
Again, wishing all of you the happiest of New Years. Warmly,
Sherri Brun

The National Federation of the Blind knows
that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future.
Every day we raise the expectations
of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind
people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what
holds you back.
Together with love, hope, and determination, we transform dreams into
reality.
