[NFBF-L] WiFi @ National

Hi all,
I did attend the convention. I will say that I did not like not being able to keep food in a refrigerator; however, I was able to use the wireless Internet throughout my stay and I was never charged for it. One thing that I found to be really disheartening this convention was the amount of miss information that was presented. This is definitely something that needs to be thoroughly presented in the future. No one should’ve been told that it would cost $40 a day to use the Internet when that was not true. Just as so,People should have had concrete information about where the dog relief areas were. People were sent to other hotels, and to use artificial turf, which in the Las Vegas heat is very dangerous for the dogs and in some cases their handlers.
Thanks,

I am not sure if the hotel did not bring all these extra expenses to the organizers attention before the planning began, or if the organizers just did not consider the members, but all of the little extras I keep hearing about are quite disheartening. Charging 40 dollars a day just for enough wifi to run devices is really unheard of. I understand that this is Las Vegas, and I also understand the need to "save" for attending the convention, but I can assure everyone, that I work, and I still could not afford all the extras this year. $50 to remove the Minnie bar, $40 per day if an empty fridge is needed, and now $40 a day for WiFi? Doesn't sound good for the organizers.

But the national office should consider all these extra expenses when they choose a venue for our national convention. This place is much too expensive! I am going because I have some goals to achieve for our chapter. And, of course, I don’t like to miss the national convention for the motivation aspect of it. But this is just too much. Please convey this to the national office. It just becomes an affordable for the average member. What is the national office try to compass with this? It seems to me that they are more focused on the more affluent members, forgetting that most of us don’t have the means to afford this kind of deal. I trust you, and your connections with the national office to speak up In our behalf. Thank you Madame president for your attention to this matter.
