Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, grandmothers and even great grandmothers!!! Hope that you all have had a blessed day!!!!!

This is a friendly reminder in regards to planning your transportation while visiting Palm Beach for our 49th annual national Federation of the blind of Florida state convention…

If you will be coming into the west palm beach try rail/Amtrak/Greyhound station or the airport and will be needing to use Palm Tran connection, please, please, please make your request to transfer your para transit service as soon as possible. I have been in contact with Palm Tran connection, and they would like everyone to make their transfer of service as soon as possible, therefore, they can prepare if they need to have additional staffing Thursday or Friday to accommodate our convention.

The telephone number for Palm Tran connection is 561-649-9838. If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding Palm Tran connection service, please feel free to contact me.

In addition, if you will be needing transportation one Monday, May 27, 2019 from the Embassy suites, Boca Raton hotel to either your home if you reside in Palm Beach County or to the west palm beach Tri-Rail/Amtrak/Greyhound station or airport, please contact me immediately and no later than Wednesday, May 15, 2019 to get your name on the list for transportation.

There will be no exceptions made after Wednesday, May 15, 2019 if you have not contacted me to arrange transportation for Monday, May 27. I need to work with the provider and schedule times accordingly to ensure that all individuals who need transportation will have their transportation.

Please see the attached email as to what I need to know if you are requesting information. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at one of the below telephone numbers or via email.

Palm Tran is providing paratransit services for incoming travelers using Tri-Rail, Amtrak and Greyhound. Any members needing to use paratransit while in Palm Beach must request visitor status in order to receive these services. Palm Tran will not be in operation on Monday, May 27, due to the Memorial Day holiday. First Transit is providing services for convention attendees to return them to the train station in West Palm Beach  and local residences. 

If you wish to take this option for transportation, please provide your information to Nicole Fincham-Sheehan, including addresses (if local residents), departure time for train/bus, how many individuals are travelling together and whether passengers have mobility aids or service animals. The deadline to submit your information to Nicole is Wednesday, May 15.  Nicole can be reached by phone: at (410) 493-4461 or email: Ndfinchamshehan at yahoo.com.

We are just wanting to give you travel options  for you to consider in planning your own travel to and from convention.
