Hello all,
Yes, I have received calls like this. I actually received several a day over the course of a week from local numbers. Social Security will never call for this. Also, it’s impossible to freeze your Social Security number. If you have questions about your benefits, please call Social Security. Also, Social Security will never ask you for money unless you have an overpayment. In that case, you will get written communication from them, and have an opportunity to appeal.
I hope this is helpful.
Thanks,
Lauren
