Local food banks are working hard to provide food assistance <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=8519e33a86&e=bd645b3a2a> to local residents in need during the coronavirus pandemic. And that number has skyrocketed in recent weeks. Second Harvest Food Bank is looking for donations <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=b19b9f687e&e=bd645b3a2a> as its list of people experiencing food insecurity is growing exponentially. They’re especially concerned with students and seniors.

🎒 The state and local school districts have launched a free meal pickup service <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=c204817922&e=bd645b3a2a> for students and are offering two free meals per day during the “extended break”. Gov. DeSantis also said yesterday that all state universities will continue online classes only <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=85207802d3&e=bd645b3a2a> through the remainder of the spring semester and that Florida’s public schools K-12 will remain closed until April 15.

💡 As a reminder, Duke Energy and OUC announced that they would not be suspending <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=74308b241c&e=bd645b3a2a> electrical or water service for nonpayment because of the fallout from coronavirus. In more good (?!) news, Orange County will not evict <https://town.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8adcb05347121ec911dc897b6&id=d169acd730&e=bd645b3a2a> its residents over missed mortgage payments. (We’re still clarifying what this means for renters and will update you with our findings!)
