Subject: White Cane Awareness Day Virtual Walk Along with DBS "See Different"

The Division of Blind Services’ See Different Team invites you to join us for our White Cane Awareness Day Virtual Walk-Along on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 11 a.m.!

The link to attend the event is available on the DBS website at: http://dbs.myflorida.com/events/index.html. There’s also a call in option - Call in Number: (850) 583-5063 Conference ID: 133 448 66#.

This event will celebrate and bring awareness to the symbol of independence that the white cane represents for blind and visually impaired individuals. The event will also educate drivers and pedestrians on the laws designed to protect them and our communities.

When you join us you will:

*	Hear testimonials from people who are blind or visually impaired and their experiences with driver safety,
*	Get to walk alongside the DBS See Different Team as they show us how to use a white cane, dog guide, and technology, to travel independently, and
*	Have the opportunity to be a part of a live Q & A session where you can ask the team any questions you have about the white cane law, dog guides, accessible technology, and more!

Because of the importance of the White Cane Law and White Cane Awareness Day, now known as Blind Americans Equality Day, we encourage you to share this invitation with your contacts in education, law enforcement, new drivers, seasoned drivers, and whomever else you believe can benefit from the information shared during this event.

We can’t wait to see you there!
