Subject: [NFBF-L] Sad News

 

Dear NFBF Friends, 

It is with great sadness that I must tell you that Allen Bornstein passed
away this morning. Although Allen wasn't able to attend state and national
conventions for several years because of his poor health, he hung in there
with the Greater Daytona Beach Chapter until recent months. Allen was also a
devoted member of the Center for the Visually Impaired Board of Directors
for years and years. 

Many of you will remember Allen for his willingness to provide
transportation and general assistance to the blind. He truly had a giving
heart and he will be greatly missed. CVI is establishing the Humanitarian
Award in Allen's name that will be given to a deserving recipient each year.


I don't have Dwight Sayers email address but I know Dwight would want to
know about Allen's passing so if someone would forward this along, I would
be most appreciative!
