I’m still having trouble with attachments even with Greg’s help and so haven’t been able to study the NVMDAA but will continue trying.

Importance: High

Good morning Florida Federation family,

With Washington Seminar going virtual this year, many in our Affiliate have taken advantage of the opportunity to get involved, in fact more of us have been involved in attending issue orientation, planning meetings and presentation rehearsals to our Federal legislators than ever before. Finding ways to get involved during these difficult times , both big and small, certainly shows the tremendous dedication you all have for the mission of the Federation. With that in mind, I wanted to tell you about several Washington Seminar Zoom meetings taking place later today. Normally, “The NABS meeting, their Monday night social, The Legislative Seminar and The Great Gathering-In are reserved for those who have made the trip north from Florida and are at the hotel for the start of the long hard work week, but as you would expect, this year they are all going virtual. Through the magic of Zoom, you can join your Florida Washington Seminar team members, (along with hundreds of others from across the country), and experience the excitement of these meetings.

You can find the links to the calls below. Hope that you can find the time to attend one or all of them. Those of us in Florida who are involved in the 2021 Washington Seminar have been strongly encouraged to attend both the Legislative Seminar and the Great Gathering-in, but if you are not one of our Seminarians and can only make it to one meeting, I suggest you check out The Great Gathering-In. You’ll be able to feel the excitement of preparing for our week on Capitol Hill, which will start on Tuesday.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact either me or any of our Legislative Committee team leaders.

Warmly,

Russ Davis,

Legislative Director, National Federation of the Blind of Florida
