This is my third attempt. I keep sending it from the wrong e-mail address. I’m sending again, because I think this is important.

For those of you who are constituents, please fill out this survey. Congresswoman Murphy is trying hard to make our lives better and this survey is quite accessible. The survey link is within the e-mail. She also includes valuable information on COVID-19. Thank you.

Warmly,

Sherri

DATA COMPILED ON FEBRUARY 12, 2021

Dear Friend,

Information about the COVID-19 vaccinations in Florida has been limited and, at times, confusing. My team and I have compiled the most up-to-date information about vaccine distribution in our community, and I will continue to update you as soon as we get any new details. To better understand exactly what is happening in Central Florida, I would like to hear from you about any difficulties you have experienced when trying to register for a vaccine appointment or to obtain information about vaccines. Please fill out the survey <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1759-731765> at the bottom of this newsletter so my office can better assist you.

I recently secured a bipartisan briefing <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1760-731765> for the Florida congressional delegation from the State of Florida on its vaccination rollout, which revealed numerous problems with the state’s effort to vaccinate residents in a swift and organized manner.

An insufficient supply of vaccines continues to be a problem in Florida and many other states. That’s why I’ve urged congressional leaders <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1761-731765> to prioritize the swift passage of an emergency, vaccine-focused bill that will help accomplish President Biden’s goal of 100 million shots during the first 100 days of his administration. We can pass this bill at the same time as we work urgently to enact more comprehensive COVID legislation through the reconciliation process.

In addition, I’ve urged the Biden administration <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1762-731765> to modify the formula it uses to distribute vaccine doses to U.S. states and territories. The current formula is based solely on a state’s population over age 18. That disadvantages states like Florida, since we have a relatively large population of seniors age 65 and over who need to be prioritized for vaccination, especially now that more contagious strains of the virus are circulating. I’ve asked the administration to update its allocation formula to send additional doses to states like Florida with large senior populations, who are the most likely to suffer serious health consequences as a result of the virus.

Rest assured I will keep fighting to get more shots in the arms of more Floridians and to put more money in the pockets of working families until we’ve defeated the health and economic crises caused by COVID-19.

Florida is currently in Phase 1 of vaccine distribution. This means that all providers administering any COVID-19 vaccine shall only vaccinate the following populations:

*	Health care personnel with direct patient contact
*	Long-term care facility residents and staff
*	Persons 65 years of age and older
*	Persons deemed extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 by hospital providers

While these groups are being prioritized, the number of vaccine doses is limited, which has increased wait times. As more doses become available, the state will open up eligibility to other groups.

For a complete list of who is eligible, please click here <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1763-731765> .

Each county is making progress to implement their vaccination plan at a different pace, based on population size and local availability of the vaccine. Below is a list of current vaccination sites and tips on how you can stay up-to-date since information is changing rapidly.

VACCINE APPOINTMENTS

*	There are many vaccination sites in Florida. Some are located in malls and convention centers, while others are beginning to open in stores such as Publix and Walmart. Each location has a different system for signing up to receive a vaccine dose, and some even show a running list of appointments that are available because people who were previously registered have cancelled.

*	To see most vaccination locations by county, click here <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1764-731765> .
*	Once appointments become available at Publix locations in Orange and Seminole counties, you will be able to view them by clicking here <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1765-731765> .
*	Once appointments become available at Walmart locations in Orange County, you will be able to view them by clicking here <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1766-731765> .
*	Once appointments become available at Sam’s Club locations in Orange County, you will be able to view them by clicking here <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1767-731765> .

ORANGE COUNTY INFO

*	You can sign up for text or email alerts, download a phone or tablet application for alerts, see appointment availability, and check to see if there are any cancelled appointments available at the Orange County government website by clicking here. <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1768-731765>

SEMINOLE COUNTY INFO

*	You can check on vaccine appointment availability and get updates on which groups are eligible for vaccination at both this website <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1769-731765> and this website <https://murphy.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1770-731765> .

While the process has been slow, the number of people being vaccinated in Florida is rising. Here is where things stand in the state of Florida:

I have heard from many Central Floridians who have encountered problems finding clear information about who is eligible, how to register, and the number of vaccines available in their communities. Listening to you is one of the most important parts of my job, so I want to hear directly from you about how you think Florida is handling the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
