Hey Peggy,
Thanks for the update on the convention report and me theme for the 2022 stay convention. Someone may have already thought of this and I am not the usual initiator of fundraising ideas, I would offer this as a fundraising project for the NFB of Florida. Since it also has to do with the convention, possibly funds generated from it if it is decided to forward with it, would be to offset cost of the convention upcoming in October for NFB of Florida members in need. I would propose developing a shirt using the theme as a fundraiser. The last time I propose a sure it was for statewide and it became too involved so I would suggest that a small committee design it and not get it in a long gated debate about it and either to go forward with it with either board approval or membership approval. I would suggest a T-shirt over a golf or a polo shirt as this would probably get more use(but if there would be sentiment for both, two could be designed). For a T-shirt, I would recommend initial cats I’ll be be be that would go across the center of the shirt going from left to right with the second and third be beginning in the center of the previous letter and in much smaller letters spell out under the initial caps the term that they are representing. Above each commercial cap could be the braille symbol for B. I would suggest pastel colors available and blue pink and yellow. If you also wanted to design a polo shirt, I would suggest the following: in the upper left-hand corner, embroider NFB-FL and underneath with the initial BB & B and leave enough space to put the braille symbols as well and all of this again should be embroidered. By not putting any specific date on it, the shirts would not necessarily become outdated which might enhance their sale. T-shirts could either be delivered at the convention or if people wanted them sooner they could be sent out to local chapters to deliver(statewide would have to work on its own delivery program) and a specific amount could be made in anticipation of sales at the convention. Without talking to vendors, I might think a T-shirt price could be around 18 and a polo shirt around 25 but this could fluctuate. If you feel this has any merit give me a call and I could do some rough sketches.
Thanks, Paul Lewis

Each of the committee members were given a list of the theme submissions without the name of the person who submitted the theme. They were asked to choose one and the choice most selected was declared the winner.
