[NFBF-L] next Tech Time, learn about an affordable and easy to use computer

Unfortunately, I did not record the meeting.  Below are some highlights
from the meeting:
A Chromebook is a computer that runs CHromeOS which is Google's operating
system.  These computers are designed to work from the cloud.
Chromebooks have built in accessibility features such as the Chromevox
screen reader, screen magnification, and dictation.
 The set up of a Chromebook computer is quick since it involves signing
into your Google account and answering a few questions.  If something
happens to your Chromebook and you need to purchase a new one, you will
still have all your settings and documents that you created using Google
Docs since they are saved in Google Drive.
If you create a document using Google Docs or a spreadsheet using Google
Sheets, you can export those into Word or Excel format in order to give to
people who use Microsoft Office.
Chromebook computers can run Android apps from the Google Play Store.
Since I have a couple non Gmail accounts, I have an Android app called K9
Mail to use with these accounts.
The prices of Chromebooks range between $200 and $800.  The prices depend
on how much storage, RAM, processor and what ports are available on the
computer.  If you are a low vision person, you can get Chromebooks with
HDMI ports so you can connect it to a TV.
Just like with other laptops, you can also choose between different size
monitors when you are picking one to purchase.
I have detailed notes on using Chromevox, Google Docs and Gmail if anybody
is interested.
