Good evening Federation Family.

First, I want to express my thanks to our legislative leaders Camille and
Russ for such a great legislative call. I commend all those who attended
and participated, because we have a lot of work ahead of us and everyone is
important!

On another note, I am sure everyone is probably aware of the shootings that
occurred in the pine Hills area of Orange County yesterday. Three people, a
nine-year-old, a twenty-something-year-old young lady and an up and coming
news journalist working for Spectrum News 13 were needlessly gunned down.
The mother of the nine-year-old little girl and the photographer working
with the journalist are hospitalized. The gunman was only 19. As my
Congressional Representative Maxwell Frost commented, these deaths have to
stop. I ask that you keep these victims and their families in your thoughts
and prayers and I encourage all of you to do what you can within your own
personal views to support legislation that will strengthen gun laws in
Florida. Something has to change. Thank you for taking the time to read
this.

Let's go build the NFB of Florida.

The National Federation of the Blind knows
that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future.
Every day we raise the expectations

of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind
people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what
holds you back.

Together with love, hope, and determination, we transform dreams into
reality
