Hello Sunrise and Shine family,

As requested by both Michiel Janssen and by many on today’s amazing call, I am forwarding Michiel’s email address on to you all.

It was terrific having 35 people on today’s Zoom gathering, (one of our largest calls ever). Your interactions and questions were fantastic.

You can reach Michiel by email at: michiel.janssen at ayes.ai <mailto:michiel.janssen at ayes.ai> or through the contact button on the mobile app.

You can locate the mobile app. In the Apple app. Store by searching for: OKO by Ayes.

Hope that this info helps.

Warmly,

Good Morning Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE® Family!

We have a very unique get together scheduled for this Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00 AM, in large part because we have some very special guests joining us all the way from Belgium. These folks aren’t just dropping in to sit and listen though, they’ll be with us to provide information on a fascinating mobile app that could soon be of tremendous benefit to blind pedestrians right here in Florida. Michiel Janssen and some of his partners from their company, Ayes, have developed a mobile app that detects the information provided by traffic lights and then relays it to a smart phone user almost instantly. The app known as OKO was first rolled out in Europe but is now being adapted for use in the US. Michiel and his team are currently in Florida providing demonstrations of the app and have generously blocked out some time on Thursday morning to come and speak to us.

One of our loyal SRS family members, Doug Hall in Daytona Beach, had told me about the app and introduced me to Michiele. I was so glad that he did this, because it is giving me an opportunity to actually meet the team from AYES at a live demonstration in Jacksonville on Wednesday. I think Doug is going to get to meet them later today and I hope he will also join us on Sunrise and Shine to give us his impressions of this amazing use of AI technology.

Because our guests have a tight schedule on Thursday, we’ll get started promptly at 9:00 AM, so you won’t want to be late for this special event.

If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past couple of years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
