[NFBF-L] Exciting announcement! Schakowsky Reintroduces Medical Device Non Visual Accessibility Act!

Good Morning Federation Family,

We learned yesterday that Representative Jan Schakowsky, (D-IL) has
re-introduced a bill to guarantee access to  information displayed on class
2 and class 3 in-home use medical devices to blind Americans.  The Medical
Device Non Visual Accessibility Act, which had strong support in the 117th
Congress has now been launched in the 118th Congress with a large
originating co-sponsor base. The bill already has 32 members of the House of
Representatives agreeing to support the bill, including 2 here in Florida.
We are grateful to Rep. John Rutherford, (R-5) and Rep. Sheila
Cherfilus-McCormick, (D-20) for reaffirming their support for MDNVAA. I am
very confident that more of Florida's House members will be adding their
names to this bill soon, but, it will take an effort from all of us to make
this happen.

The bill does not appear to have been assigned an "HR" bill number as yet,
but we should see one soon. I will let you know what that assignment number
is as soon as that information is released by the House.
