What a great tribute to Jeff. He was such a positive person and we did have
fun doing the music.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Jeff Harmon.

Back in the days when Wayne Davis was president, Jeff was Second Vice
President for several years, and I was First Vice President. We made a great
team. The three of us attended several state and national conventions and
Washington Seminars together, and always found times to share stories and
have some laughs together.

I will always cherish the time at Leadership Seminar when Gene Gizzi, David
Moody, Sherri Brun, and I worked up renditions of songs like "Cool Change"
and "Seven Bridges Road." The same group, with the addition of Daniel
Weiner, wrote and preformed a parody of the Beatles' "Nowhere Man" called
"Council Man" (yeah, it was about the ACB), which we sang and played for the
entire seminar. Dr. Jernigan asked for a copy of the recording, which I was
glad to provide to him the next time I saw him - on cassette, of course.
This was in the late 1980s.

Jeff was a good man and there are so many of us who will miss him.

Dan Hicks

Dear Federation Family,

I am writing you with a broken heart, our long time friend and member of the
NFB Jeffrey Harmon passed away on September 13, 2023. He served as President
of the Martin County Chapter and on the Florida State Board for many years.
Jeff was pre-deceased by his wife Erlinda several years ago and is survived
by his lovely daughter Michelle. Jeff and his family were loyal
federationalist and worked hard to promote its mission and philosophy.

I also want to let you know that another one of our fellow federationalist
Ron Briant also passed away last week. Ron lived in the Melbourne area and
attended several NFB events and conventions. He served our country in the
Air Force for more than 30 years and supported the efforts of the NFB.

It was a pleasure knowing these gentlemen and they have left me with many
fond memories. They will be deeply missed.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Lapp

Executive Director

Florida Outreach Center

For The Blind, Inc.

Former President of the NFB St. Lucie and Palm Beach County Chapters
