Elegant Insights is run by a blind entrepreneur who sells all kinds of jewelry, cane charms, necklaces, luggage tags, bracelets, earrings both with Braille and print engravings if desired. She does this event once a year to help out other blind entrepreneurs who have small businesses. I've gotten lots of Christmas presents for my friends from this event. It's lots of fun. Greetings, Let's Go Shopping attendees!
I wanted to share a bit about what you can expect during our epic, 2-day shopping event. We've got a couple of new vendors, returning favorites, and even a new program that I hope you will find to be fun and exciting.
First, you already know that you love Barry and Kae from GuideLights and Gadgets and GuideLight Dogs, and they will each have their own hour. Two of our newer entrepreneurs will also be returning, Tricia from Blind Girl Designs and Ray Wright from Wright Turn Only. Both have been a big hit in previous LGS events. Plus, you'll find tech gadgets, needlecraft, and even braille jewelry...wink.
I'm really excited to share two new vendors with you, Chuck from Simple Little Goods, and Arthur from Glam Canes.
Chuck has a fantastic inventory of one of my personal favorite accessory categories: Artisan crafted leather products. These are the types of items that make great gifts, especially considering they are original and handcrafted.
Arthur offers a glamorous solution to a vexing fashion problem, and that is how to get dressed up with a mobility cane that's...well, let's just say dressed down. If you put in the effort to look fab, why not complete the look with a Glam Cane?
You'll find the times for both of these great new programs below.
The Stocking Stuffers hour returns with great gifts under $20, and that's always lots of fun. Don't forget about the Happy Hour Q and A at the end of the second day, where you can get your questions answered that you may not have been able to get in during a live program. Bring a beverage and chill out with all the vendors. I know I'll be uncorking a bottle.
So, what's up with this "Mystery Box" hour? This is a new program that came about during a conversation I had with one of the other vendors. We had both come up with the idea to offer "grab bag" type items for our customers who were already fans, and who might like to get a box of surprises filled with all sorts of merchandise. Many of us have extra inventory, items we overbought, items we cannot sell due to damaged packaging, dent and scratch items, and so on. After discussing the idea with several other vendors, I thought it would be fun to put together an hour or so where we could all offer surprise boxes for less than the value of the contents. Just our way of helping out with this little inflation problem we seem to be having, and it helps us out, too. Nothing weighs down a business like extra inventory that's taking up space.
