Nationwide Test

On September 8, 2023, the FCC issued a Public Notice to remind Emergency
Alert System (EAS) participants and participating Commercial Mobile Service
providers in the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) of their obligation to
ensure that EAS and WEA alerts are accessible to persons with disabilities.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has scheduled nationwide EAS
and WEA tests for October 4, 2023, at approximately 2:20 pm EDT.

The Public Notice also explains how consumers may report inaccessible EAS
and WEA alerts.
