Join Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, Inc. and our guest speaker,
Katrina Brockway, with the Palm Beach County Library System. She will
discuss a myriad of things for you to know about protecting yourself online!

 

*	What are viruses, ransomware, and phishing scams?
*	How to identify phishing/scam texts, calls, and emails
*	The importance of keeping personal information private
*	What is a secure network, and why you should use it
*	How to choose safe passwords
*	Why you need to keep your software updated
*	How to recognize secure websites 

 

Katrina started her career with the Palm Beach County Library System in
2015, working her way up through circulation while attending library school
at night. In December 2020, she graduated with her Master's degree in
Library and Information Science from Florida State University. Katrina was
hired as a librarian in 2021, and in 2022, Katrina was awarded Outstanding
New Librarian of the Year by the Florida Library Association. Currently, she
is the Assistant Branch Manager of the Lantana Road Branch.
