Congratulations to the 2025 Washington Seminar Florida delegation as you embark upon a New Year . I, too, am eager to know the priorities being taken to the “Hill”, as well as looking forward to participating in future meetings.
Keeping you guys in prayer as you prepare to go and during your entire stay!

Congratulations to Florida's 2025 Washington Seminarians. As one who has experienced many facets of the experience, I am sure each of you both those who are returning and those who are new will have a rewarding and a unique experience worth being considered as valuable.
I am sure my feelings are likely the same or similar to many members in our affiliate when I say, "I look forward to hearing about the great work all will do at the 2025 Washington Seminar!"
Regards,
Tashara Cooper

Hello Federation Family,
Those who were able to take time out of their busy schedules to attend our recent NFBF Legislative Committee meeting were given the terrific news about our 2025 National Federation of the Blind of Florida Washington Seminar delegation. If you weren’t in attendance last week, you may not have heard the wonderful news about our wonderful team.
Your newly elected Affiliate Board of Directors, including your Legislative Directors, Russ Davis and Camille Tate, worked very hard to construct a team of delegates from all across the Sunshine State. We have some veterans and three eager and excited rookies heading into the cold of Washington DC in early February. Some hard work had to be done to reduce the size of our typical delegation, in order to use our limited Affiliate funds responsibly. We were only able to budget for 8 attendees in 2025. With fewer boots on The Hill, we will only have two members per regional team, (down from our customary delegation of 12). We still feel confident though that the 2025 delegates will do an amazing job and will make you all very proud.
As we discussed during our recent Legislative Committee Zoom call and at our legislative workshopduring the October annual NFBF convention , the visit to Capitol Hill is only the beginning the work to be done during the newly convened 119th Congress. We’ll need support from all Florida Federationists throughout the February 3 - 6 Washington Seminar and throughout the rest of the year.
Please join me in congratulating your 2025 Washington Seminar Florida delegation:
Russ Davis, Legislative Director – North Team
Camille Tate, Legislative Director – East Team
Z’leah Liburd, Statewide Chapter President and FABS President – West Team
Kaye Baker, NFBF 1st Vice-President – South Team
Adriann Keve, NFBF Greater Jacksonville Chapter, Board Member - North Team
Javier Diaz, NFBF Board Member – East Team, (first timer)
Erica Thomas, NFBF Palm Beach Chapter Board Member, East Team, (first timer)
Donald Cristie, NFBF Tallahassee Chapter, President, West Team, (first timer)
The legislative priorities for 2025 have not yet been announced by our national office but should be out by mid December. We are all eagerly awaiting the release of the host of issues to be carried to our elected officials.
The entire team will be meeting next week to begin training and to push through the logistical work that goes with conducting this complex annual event, and for them I’d just like to say, “the work has just begun”.
Looking forward to gathering with not only the 2025 delegation but also with all interested Federation members in Florida. Future meetings will be announced soon.
Respectfully,
Russ Davis, Legislative Director
