Good afternoon Sunrise and Shine Family and Welcome First Timers Too!

Sorry about the late notice of this meeting.technology bugs are biting hard,
but with perseverance I'm making it through.

With a large contingent from the NFB heading to Washington DC in just a
couple of days and with the ACB hard at work planning their gathering in our
nation's capital in March, now feels like the perfect time for SRS to focus
on our advocacy efforts. We'll take a look at the related content available
on NFB-NEWSLINER

and then launch into a great discussion about what blind people do to shine
light on the issues that impact our lives every day. I can tell you one
thing for sure, we're not sitting on our hands and accepting what government
and society saddle us with, we're getting out and raising our voices,
crafting legislation and then fighting for it with our elected officials.
Let's all get together tomorrow morning and share our experiences and our
collective wisdom. We have a lot to teach each other.

I'm so looking forward to having you with us tomorrow morning, January 25th
at 9:00 AM (EST). We won't be getting into big policy debates, so don't
worry about things turning sour, this Zoom call isn't about issuing points
and counter points, but rather about sharing how we as a community of blind
people are affecting positive change through individual and collective
action.

If you haven't been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for
coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you've been missing.
We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and
for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the
Zoom platform over the past few years and in fact, we've been using Zoom
since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th2020. If you're not
used to using Zoom or if it's still giving you difficulties, don't give up
just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web
link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number
provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to
see new faces.

Hope to have you with us this Thanksgiving morning, see below for the Zoom
info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the
call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
