Good morning, Sunrise and Shine, fans and family!
The notice for this weeks Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE® is going out a bit later than I wanted, but finally, here it is! I hope very much that you can clear your calendar for this important Zoom call. The call will only be successful if lots of participants from all over are able to be present and are willing to join in with their thoughts.
So, that there’s no confusion, mark your calendars for, Thursday, November 14th at 9:00 AM, (eastern). The Zoom link will be shown below my signature.
The topic for the call came to me as I was considering how the exhibit hall at our recently concluded National Federation of the Blind of Florida convention fared. I have my own opinions, but more importantly are the opinions of the attendees to the exhibit space.
With this in mind, I thought it would be helpful and fun for ‘Rise and Shine attendees to share what they want in a convention exhibit hall. The opinions aren’t specific to just one organization, but to all events where blind people gather. The Presidents of both the National Federation of the Blind of Florida and the Florida Council of the Blind will be present on the call and hopefully Wanda Stokley from the FCB as well. I have been honored to have the opportunity to serve as exhibit hall coordinator for the NFB of Florida for several years and hopefully will have this privilege again in 2025.
Some experienced exhibitors will also be with us tomorrow as well.
Our Sunrise and Shine calls reach far beyond Florida and so I am encouraging attendees to come from all over the US. If you have an opinion, or if you have responsibilities connected to exhibitors, vendors and sponsors, please know that you are welcome.
I bet that some of the ideas we will receive tomorrow will be quite creative and unique, but those ideas are welcome too. Hope very much to see you in the morning.
If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.
Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past few years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.
The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.
Hope to have you with us this Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
