Jorge and all,

I am so relieved to see this wise decision. I am in Cincinnati now, but my St. Petersburg home is pretty definitely in the path of the storm. My daughter and family have evacuated to another relative’s home, not in an evacuation zone, and I am tuned in constantly to ongoing reports.

By the way, I am listening to Bay Nine News via Spectrum TV app, which is currently available free on iPhone and android to all, whether you are a spectrum customer or not.

Praying for safety of everyone.

Deborah

Dear federation members:

I would like to provide further details on our 2024 State convention and the approaching storm.

The Florida Affiliate board had an emergency meeting this morning regarding our 2024 state Convention and it was decided to postpone our convention. The safety of our members is our highest priority, and we do not want to put any one in harm’s way. We are in communications with the hotel and will meet with them after the storm passes to coordinate dates that will work for both parties.

The hotel will do a mass cancelation of those reservations that were under the NFB convention room block however if you do not receive a cancelation confirmation Email, please reach out to the hotel at (904) 396-5100 and cancel your reservation. I urge all that had travel arrangements with an airline, a bus , or train airline company to please contact them and cancel or receive a travel credit so you do not endure charges.

Furthermore, those members that are in the storm’s path, please make sure you heed your local officials warning and advice. Your safety is there and our first priority so please follow the media so you can be aware of important information.

Once the storm passes, please reach out to us to make sure you and your love ones are doing well.

Stay safe.

Sincerely,
