[NFBF-L] Travel arrangements to State Convention

Dear Florida federation members,

 

The 54th Annual State Convention of the National Federation of the Blind of
Florida is only 17 days away and the affiliate board is finalizing all
necessary arrangements to receive the membership in Jacksonville Florida.

 

However, I do have some concerns on a call that I received today regarding
members traveling on Thursday, October 10th to our convention.  I want to
make sure that if you are traveling to our convention on such date, that you
have a room reservation under your name .  The room block that was allocated
for the convention has sold out and the deadline for booking a room has
passed.  Members, it is indicative that you ensure that you have such
reservation because the affiliate board cannot assure that when you arrive
at the hotel, that you can obtain a room.

 

I urge those members who will travel on the 10th of October to verify your
reservation several days before you depart to Jacksonville and have a
reservation confirmation in hand.  The affiliate board is eager to receive
our members on Friday, October 11, 2024 and do not want to see any  member
endure hardship due to lack of information concerning hotel availability.
