Hello Statewide Advocates,

The third Sunday of the month is almost here, and you know what that
means—it’s time for another Statewide Chapter meeting. This month’s meeting
is packed with important topics you won’t want to miss. Here’s an overview:

Making Budget Motions

With the state convention quickly approaching, we need to make motions to
set a budget for several items:

   -

Exhibit Hall Table: As agreed in previous meetings, we will have an
exhibit hall table for the state convention. The board proposes allocating
   $25.00 for this item.
   -

Door Prizes: A convention favorite! In a previous meeting, we agreed to
donate $100 in the form of five $20 envelopes.
   -

Pizza for the Social: The membership has agreed to have pizza at the
social. The board has not yet determined an exact allocation amount.
However, $200 should be considered a reasonable baseline, as this would
likely cover the cost of approximately three boxes of pizza, a few drinks,
and still leave some funds in case of unexpected needs. It’s best to budget
more than required so we end up under budget rather than over. The social,
in terms of food, will be first-come, first-served. The final allocation
will be decided during the meeting.
   -

Hospitality Suite: Another convention tradition! Chapters are encouraged
to contribute to help provide snacks, beverages, and other refreshments.
The board has not set an exact amount yet, but past contributions have
   ranged from $100–$150.

Hospitality Suite Committee

Do you enjoy organizing spaces and coordinating volunteers? Would you like
to help serve light refreshments to attendees? Join the FSWC Hospitality
Suite Committee! As a chapter, our role is to secure volunteers, set up the
suite, and ensure it runs smoothly. If you’re interested, join co-chairs
Jose (yours truly) and Niklas to make the hospitality suite a success.

Ellie Mental Health Presentation

This month, we will hear from Ellie Mental Health, a group providing
therapy and mental counseling to the disabled community. They would like to
reach out to the blind community. They will share who they are, what they
offer, and how you can connect with them. Therapy can be a valuable
resource for everyone—let’s see what they have to offer.

Convention Registration Reimbursement

We understand the expenses involved in attending the state convention, so
the FSWC board is offering reimbursements toward convention registration.

If we have any members that have not been officially voted in as chapter
members, we will take the opportunity to initiate those members.

These are the topics we’ll be covering at our upcoming meeting. I’m looking
forward to seeing everyone there! Zoom info is below.

Best regards,
