Hello Statewide Advocates and Supporters,

Last Sunday, the Florida Association of Blind Students (FABS), in
collaboration with the Florida Statewide Chapter, hosted a guest
presentation on navigating the job market as a blind individual, featuring
Nicky Jackson, Employment Coordinator for the NFB.

During this presentation, many insights were shared about navigating the
job market as a blind person. Topics discussed included the importance of
reasonable accommodations, understanding your rights under the ADA as a job
seeker and employee, the use of AI in the hiring process and its impact on
blind applicants, and much more.

I know that many of you were not able to attend, especially due to the
last-minute collaboration with the Florida Association of Blind Students,
which resulted in a sudden time change for the Statewide Chapter meeting.
For that, I would like to apologize.

Because we believe the presentation was very informative, we would like to
share the Zoom recording of the meeting. This recording provides anyone who
was unable to attend the opportunity to watch the presentation.

If there are specific questions related to the employment presentation, the
Florida Statewide Chapter and the FABS board encourage anyone to reach out
