[NFBF-L] FSWC Monthly Business Meeting Reminder and Special Presentation - March 15th

Hello Statewide Advocates,

Our monthly meeting is coming up on Sunday, March 15th, and we have a
special presentation for you. Read below to find out more.

This month, we will learn about Toastmasters and how it can help build
important skills for advocacy and leadership. Toastmasters is an
international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people improve
their public speaking, communication, and leadership skills. Through
regular meetings, members practice giving prepared speeches, participating
in impromptu speaking exercises known as “Table Topics,” and providing
constructive feedback to one another. The program is designed to help
participants grow more confident in speaking, organizing their thoughts,
and communicating effectively in both professional and everyday situations.

Our presenters will introduce us to VIP Online Toastmasters, an online
Toastmasters club designed to make the Toastmasters experience accessible
to people who are blind or have low vision. The club meets virtually and
brings together members from across the country and around the world to
practice speaking and leadership skills in an inclusive and supportive
environment.

During the presentation, we will learn how Toastmasters meetings work, what
members can expect when they attend, and how joining a club like VIP Online
Toastmasters can help strengthen skills that are valuable for advocacy,
leadership, and professional development. They even presented to us during
one of our state conventions in Tampa many years ago.

usual business meeting topics.
