Subject: [NFBF-L] NFB of Florida - Legislative Advocacy and Concerns meeting - Tuesday, March 24th at 8:00 PM ET
Hello,, everyone!
Some truly important legislative advocacy action is currently needed at this time. We will hold a legislative advocacy and concerns meeting tomorrow, Tuesday March 24th, at 8:00 PM and will focus on the Texas Vs. Kennedy lawsuit that is threatening the foundations of section 504. Recently, our national office Advocacy and Policy team held a Zoom call to discuss the current status of the suit and gave us some good direction on how we all can take meaningful action and advocate to protect our civil rights. Camille Tate and I will be able to brief you all about what steps we need to take at this time.
Overall, we still have many unfinished goals, and we won’t be able to accomplish them without your help. Your 2026 Washington Seminar Delegation knew this as well and is prepared to keep working throughout the remainder of the 119th Congress, (that means we’ll keep at it until the end of the year…that was our promise to you).
On Tuesday, we’ll bring you up to date on important legislative priorities both in Washington and in Tallahassee. I know Camille is eager to tell you all what’s happening within the Florida House and Senate, by the way, they’re going to be called back for a special session, (after the regular legislative session ended on March 13th).
Please make time within your busy schedules to attend this truly important Legislative Advocacy and Concerns meeting.
I’ve mentioned this in the past, but don’t mind saying again that Florida has an amazing group of individuals involved in the legislative process, let’s keep the work going and keep advocating for all blind people in our wonderful State.
President Camille Tate and I are Looking forward to having you with us at this important meeting on Tuesday, March 24th at 8:00 PM (Eastern). Please see below for the Zoom link information.
Very respectfully,
Russ Davis, Legislative Director
