veterans living in the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are visually
impaired and blind, many require additional assistance and services to secure
and maintain employment. Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, serving the blind
and visually impaired, created the Veterans’ Bridge to Work Initiative to
address these unmet needs. Indeed, employment is essential to maintaining
independence for those who are visually impaired or blind and Columbia
