It is a Word doc containing information
about food in downtown and the surrounding area. I can tell you that we
left a lot of stuff out because there are places to eat underground and
Houston is full of great restaurants. There are a couple of things outside
the three-mile radius we set for ourselves, but most things are a
reasonable walk, or a short Uber ride away. If you get to hot, you can also
find a lot of these places on Uber Eats, Door Dash, Favor, or some other
food delivery service that I haven't thought of.

While I have your attention, I'll point out some things you should know. If
you order from a food or grocery delivery service, you will have to meet
your driver downstairs. The elevators require a key card, so your driver
cannot come up. The fact that you need a key card to go upstairs is the
other thing I wanted you to know. The elevators aren't smart like the ones
in New Orleans, but at least one person on the elevator must have a key
card to make them work. Once a card has been inserted, any floors can be
pushed.

I want to thank George Battiste and Randy Farber for helping to put this
guide together. The three of us have spent hours developing and editing it,
and I promise you will still find mistakes that are all mine.

Do not bring your jackets to Houston. We are having a monster heat wave. As
I was finishing up my part of the guide, I kept thinking, this is gonna be
an Uber Eats convention, but I know our guys will brave the elements for
food. The wonderful Emily Gibbs is turning this document into a brf file,
and we'll post that here when it is ready.

See you all soon!

Norma Crosby, President
National Federation of the Blind of Texas
1600 E Highway 6, Suite 215
Alvin, TX 77511
(281) 968-7733 (Main Office)
(281) 968-7158 (Fax)
ncrosby@nfbtx.org

To schedule a meeting with me go to https://calendly.com/ncrosby/meeting

"Live the life you want."

[image: NFBTX] <https://www.nfbtx.org>[image: @NFBTX]
<http://twitter.com/@nfbtx>[image: Facebook]
<http://facebook.com/BlindofTexas>
